Joy

Happy Easter, everyone who celebrates the day and happy March 27th to y’all who don’t celebrate today as a holiday!

I can’t imagine today going any better than it already has. Last night I went out on a limb and decided to contact Stop Sexual Assault in Schools (SSAIS), an organization that I have been admiring and wanting to join in fighting for their cause. I wasn’t expecting anything spectacular to happen but very soon after I received a reply from the co-founder of SSAIS, Esther Warkov, saying she wanted to talk to me as soon as possible because they sure could use my help. It was the best way this situation could have gone. I was completely amazed at this opportunity to speak with an organization that I have really been admiring and wanting to help. This could lead to great things for me and becoming a real activist and creating real change. I wish I could express my excitement in words but I have fallen to a mumbling mess. When I read that email I immediately started crying and realized that I have found my passion and purpose in life. For so many years I have felt lost and as if I didn’t fit in because I never felt 100% certain on what I wanted for my life or what I was truly inspired by. I couldn’t believe my luck. I have this amazing first step in my journey to becoming an activist and creating a change. I really want to share my story, support survivors, and create a world I am proud to live in. That is the reason I am here and the reason I will keep pushing forward in my journey to follow my passion. This is an incredible opportunity for me and I finally feel like I have a solid place for me to grow in. I am immensely thankful today for my life and for the life I have yet to live. I cannot imagine a better way this day could have gone.

I hope you all have had a nice Sunday and I hope you have a great rest of your week.

Stay Strong,

Lauren
